“Kasane presents a dark and fantastical tale of identity-swapping through a mysterious lipstick, offering a unique premise executed with strong visuals and compelling performances, particularly by Tao Tsuchiya in a transformative role. Though the film leaves some questions unanswered—like the lipstick’s origin—and may confuse viewers with its constant role-switching, it rewards attentive audiences with a haunting story about envy, self-worth, and inner beauty. At its core, the film reminds us to be grateful for who we are and to value character over appearance. Read the full review here: (Indonesian version : alunauwie.com)”
