“FULL SPOILER-FREE REVIEW @ https://insessionfilm.com/movie-review-peter-pan-wendy/ "Peter Pan & Wendy may be overly familiar, but David Lowery brings a sense of true wonder to Neverland, marking this personal project of his as one of Disney's best live-action remakes in years. Filled with visually striking moments, tons of adventurous sequences, and a diverse, inclusive cast that deserves every praise and then some. Daniel Hart's score is absolutely magnificent and stands out superbly! A pleasant spring surprise that shouldn't be missed!" Rating: B+”
“Neither good or bad, 'Peter Pan & Wendy' is rather average. Peter Pan is admittedly a tale that, even as a kid, I never really clicked with. The two Disney animated flicks are films I'd consider as good, but even then I didn't really vibe with them all that much. I think it's because I find the story quite one-dimensional, there's never anything that I can sink my teeth into. I do, though, like how this version mixes a few things up, particularly with Hook and Pan's backstory. As well as how Tinker Bell acts, I always found it a bit odd how she would be jealous of Wendy in the other pictures - her behaviour in this 2023 film does feel much more logical. So I do give credit to the filmmakers for these changes. Those weren't enough for me to enjoy this, however. At least it's better than 1991's 'Hook'. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”
